Interview with Artist Ricetache
This week, we visited Ricetache in his East Ricetown studio to find out about his passions, his work and his life as an artist.
Ricetache has become a prominant artist in Ricetown after his debut show last year called 'Life as a Mouse'.
Please tell us a bit more about your new show!
My new show is opening tonight at Ricetown Gallery, I'm really exstatic because it's my biggest show yet. I really wanted to channel the energy of surrealist art, that's why I called it Ricedali.
So, who is your favourite artist?
My favouite artist is definately Salvador Dali, his images are so striking and bizarre, it's all very inspiring!
And, who is your muse?
I have two, Ricecarrot and Ricebonbon, they inspire me to create everyday. I just love their pink fur and sweet rabbit ears.
What is your favourite colour?
I would have to say that my favourite colour is pink. It is such a versatile colour, it can be vibrant, it can be poetic, it can be anything you like.
When did you know you wanted to become an artist?
I have always been an artist, I have never stopped creating and making...
What advice would you give to a young artist following in your steps?
I would tell them to keep going, and never give up but to also always have fun with the work that they create.
