Team Noodoll have been busy making another free DIY activity to keep you and your little ones busy like bees. Our story dice download is a fun activity to make and play together, or for little monsters to explore on their own. It will help improve fine motor skills and encorage their creativity and imagination too. A great craft activity for indoor play.

These dice feature some of our most colourful characters. Can you name them all? Ricebamboo, Ricejam, Riceananas, Riceless, Ricelemon and Ricesurimi! Take a trip to our character pages to find out more about our Ricemonsters, including their personalities, friends, their likes and dislikes and where they live in Ricetown! Then scroll down for the easy step-by-step instructions on how to build your story dice.

Follow these steps to get making and playing:

 1. You'll need to download and print our free DIY activity sheets, they'll include some instructions and your three story dice templates. Choose from pre-coloured ones or, if you're feeling artistic, click here to download colouring-in versions. You'll also need some scissors and some sticky tape.

2. Cut out your dice along the solid black lines. You might need a grown-up to help, scissors can be sharp!

3. Fold along all of the dotted lines, then use little pieces of tape to stick the folded taps to each other. This will turn your template into a cube and make your dice.

4. Do the same for all three dice. You need to make one for character, one for setting and one for object.

Once you've finished making your three dice you're ready to start playing! Roll each one to build a different part of your story. You should have some instructions in your PDF download, but here they are again just in case:

1. Roll each dice to decide what will be included in your story.

2. You need to roll a character, a setting and an object. (Roll more than once if you want to tell a longer tale)

3. Use what your dice have chosen to create a wonderful story. Tell it to friends, act it out with your Ricemonster toys or in our DIY theatre, write it down in a beautiful book... it's up to you!

If I rolled Ricejam, then Ricetown Icey Park, then the skateboard I might tell a story about how Ricejam went skateboarding and got very lost, so ended up trapped on the highest mountain in Ricetown Icey Park.

If you want to find out more about the characters you roll, head to our character pages. They're full of exciting facts and cute animations telling you all about each Ricemonster's personality, likes and dislikes. You can also find out where they live and explore the funny and sweet world of Ricetown.
